The Landing Grill and Sushi Bar (Westlake, Ca)
You know how I know it’s beginning to feel like Spring? When it’s a gorgeous sunny day, clear blue skies, and nice enough to eat outside. Thinking of this and wondering what eatery in the 805 had a great deck or patio seating, I instantly thought of The Landing. It’s a shopping center and walkway around the actual lake of Westlake where there are tons of boats and ducks. (You’re not...

Pancho Lopez Mexican Cuisine (Los Angeles, Ca)
Due to this New Years resolution, we are forced to be creative about where we go for meals. One night last week, we knew that we wanted to go out, but where! Tiff came up with a place she saw one day while getting gas in the San Fernando Valley. It’s name, Pancho Lopez Mexican Cuisine. The location is so new that they have no permanent sign up on the building; only a banner. Despite already...

New Years Resolution Update...
So just thought I’d update those curious ones out there wondering what food places we have knocked off our list for the year 2011. First we wanted to clarify the rules: Due to Evan being on the Moorpark College Volleyball team and needing to eat with the team when they travel, he is allowed to eat multiple times at a place BUT only if the team has to go there. So if the team stops at...
Nothing Bundt Cakes (Thousand Oaks, Ca)
Set Scene: You just got engaged. You’re really excited. You’ve done all the planning and it’s down to the final stretch; last leg of the race. Now it’s time for you to be pampered. Relieve all your stress. What better way than having your mother or close friend throw you a bridal shower? You get to drink, eat, relax, open gifts, and did I mention eat? It’s the day before the BIG ONE where you...
"Hooked" on Hook Burger Bistro (Oxnard, Ca)
Hook Burger Bistro. You’d think you would find Captain Hook around the place somewhere, but not at this new hotspot in Oxnard. No, pretty sure the word “Hook” in the place’s name comes from being “hooked” and wanting to come back again and again.
Evan was the one insistent on going to check it out, (he LOVES burgers) and I’m really glad we did. His dad saw their new opening article in the...

New Years Resolution
So for the followers of 4 Track Minds we’re sorry we haven’t been updating our site. We’ve been super busy with family and friends with the holiday season. But there’s good news! Tiffany and I have a New Years Resolution that will be fun and very challenging.
For the year 2011, Tiff and I will not eat out at the same place twice. This will force us to eat at home a lot...

Toppers by the Sea
Wow is all that could be said by both Evan and I when we walked into the Toppers at Channel Islands, also known as Toppers by the Sea. Thundering and lightning, we ran inside to find a huge two story masterpiece with tons of windows to display the amazing view of the harbor. If you’ve ever eaten at Toppers Pizza Place before, you know each one is single story, has the basic benches,...
Carli's Bistro
Tucked away in Old Moorpark, off the beaten path, Carli’s Bistro is found with a feel of a beach house; frayed bamboo looking umbrellas contributes to this feel on their outdoor front patio. I love how they have their patio in the front because they are right across the street from the AMTRACK train tracks and can catch that every once in awhile, as well as just be entertained from the people...

My Florist (Ventura, California)
Looking for that place to get drinks, hang out with your friends, eat some really great food in a place you could lounge out and chill? My Florist is the PERFECT place! No, much to your dismay, it’s not a flower shop. This fairly large restaurant and bar is located in downtown Ventura with an atmosphere of relaxation. Depending on what night you go, you may not catch any live music, but...
Mai's Cafe (Ventura, California)
If you didn’t already know, Main Street in Ventura is very long. East and West Main Street are separated by Ventura Avenue, right past the mission. The section of East Main Street from the Main Street exit has more older buildings and another lane to the street making it seem more open, busy, and accessible to the mall and residential housing. Exiting California Street is considered more...

Spudnuts
Located all over Southern California, Spudnuts is my favorite donut shop because it holds my favorite donut (chocolate frosted bar filled with chocolate chips and topped with chocolate chips.) I’ve tried many donuts and gone to dozens of different donut places “claiming” to have the best, but Spudnuts has never disappointed me.
The donut above (now looking like Ms. Pacman) was...
5 Guys Burgers and Fries COMING SOON to T.O.!!
In n Out’s burgers are about to have some competition as 5 Guys moves in to Thousand Oaks. Although two completely different burgers, their high quality and great taste will have them in a guaranteed neck and neck battle fighting for customers.
While In-n-Out is known as one of the best burgers in California and thousands of tourists are amazed when they try it, 5 Guys is one of the best...
Meat Locker (Thousand Oaks, CA) and Green Acres...
One of the things I look forward to about summer is all the grilling on the BBQ. Whether it’s at home, the beach, camping, or going out for it, my summer never seems to start until I’ve dived into a chargrilled hamburger or had a BBQ sauce smeared face from a tri-tip sandwich. Meat Locker in Thousand Oaks and Green Acres Farm Market in Simi Valley are two places I go for some of the best...

Loopers Bar and Grille (Bethlehem, PA)
** Must be 21 to even look at this page**
Loopers is a restaurant and bar right off the campus of Lehigh University in Bethlehem, PA. The appetizers are the perfect thing for some snacking while sipping on some of their famous martinis. With over 300 martinis to choose from, it’s not an easy thing to do and the waiters and waitresses can only help you try and pick one based on the selected...
La Super Rica (Santa Barbara, CA)
It was a classic case of June gloom today as Evan and I headed up the coast, on the 101, to La Super Rica in Santa Barbara. Despite the gloomy weather, there was nothing but smiles and excitement from not only us, but the other customers in anticipation of the delicious mexican food. Only a 45 minute drive from our starting point of Newbury Park/Thousand Oaks, we arrived at 10:45 am, 15 minutes...

Taco Bell's NEW Bacon Ranch Tortada
EWWWWWW RANCHHH BLECCCKKKKK!!! I actually just stumbled upon this because I wanted to find the picture of the shrimp taco because Evan informed me that they NO LONGER HAVE IT!!! I repeat no longer have it! It was just for Lent so he didn’t get to try it since he gave up fast food…. next year we will be there so he can try it. I haven’t even seen this on commercials, but...

Pacific Shrimp Taco at Taco Bell
Alright so I’ve been hearing waaaay too many people say “Taco bell would be the last place on earth I would get seafood!” or “I’m going to get sick.” I’m here to tell you, you won’t! (unless you have seafood allergies, then you will.)
As weird as it may be to get your head around taco bell having actual seafood on their menu, the day has come! and...

Kings Hawaiian Bakery and Restaurant
Thats right ladies and gents the maker of the famous hawaiian sweet rolls has a bakery and restaurant and its reasonably close to our homes. If you’re driving up the 405 freeway from Longbeach towards Santa Monica you pass by a HUGE building with KINGS HAWAIIAN on the right. That is where I got my idea to surprise the fiance (who LOVES the rolls). It was simple as looking up Kings Hawaiian...
ITS CHRISTMAS TIME!!!
The smells of pine, hot out of the oven cookies, egg nog, glistening lights, they all represent that time of year we know as CHRISTMAS!!! Since it’s only December 10th and you’re probably just getting into the holiday spirit as you see more people hanging lights and getting their Christmas tree, lighting the fire on a cold night, and snuggling up on the couch to watch those Christmas...

Diddy Riese (Westwood, Ca)
You know when you hear “for a business to succeed it’s all about location, location, location”? Well, being right on the outskirts of UCLA’s campus, as well as surrounded by movie theatres, restaurants, and streets of outdoor shops, Diddy Riese hit it right.
At $1.50 for a custom made ice cream sandwich, it’s a place EVERYONE needs...
Dave's Deli (Bethlehem, PA)
After shutting down from lack of business because of the tough competition from local delis in the campus area, the deli who shall not be named closed and before you could blink, a new one had moved in. This new deli is known as Dave’s Deli. I was kind of hesitant to try it because I figured it would just be gone in a month so why get attached?...

Rocket Fizz (Camarillo, CA)
After finishing lunch one day, my friend Whitney said there was some soda/candy shop down the street that her brother had mentioned, wondering if I wanted to check it out. “YEAAAH!!” I couldn’t hold in my excitement while she called him for directions. I felt like I was speed walking to get there because of how...
Beverage for the Birthday Boy :)
On this very special day EVAN’S 21st BIRTHDAY!! :D I thought I would do a special blog and talk about a delicious beverage that he can now buy :)
PARTY HATS!!! :P
Lionshead is a Pilsner beer and the beer of choice on my team, not only for its delicious, oh so smooth taste, but the fun riddles under the cap! The Lion Brewery in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania makes a few varieties of beer...
Pat's and Geno's Cheesesteaks (Philadelphia, PA)
In August 2006, I packed up all my clothes into my suitcases and me, my Mom, and my Dad headed out to the East Coast to move into my dorm. We went out a week early to site see and the first thing on the list was to go to a phillies game and have my first cheesesteak. I WAS PUMPED!! We got the cheesesteak from a place called King’s steaks in the ballpark, but...

Five....Five dolla... Five dolla Pizza Buffet!!...
Yeah, you heard me $5 pizza buffet and thats not all! They also include salad, garlic bread, pasta, AND dessert! YOU CAN’T BEAT IT! (With a drink it’s close to $7, but seriously an amazing deal! When’s the last time you had all you can eat for $7?!)
I can’t speak for Evan, but I’m sure he can agree with me that the pizza isn’t anything...
Flama Tropical (Bethlehem, PA)
NEEEEEDDD MEXICAAAAAN FOOOD ONNNN EASSSSTTT COOOAAAASSSSST!!! So yeah I’ve pretty much been spoiled living in California with the wonderful and tasty meals I’ve had at mexican places and pretty much found that out when I first encountered my first “bethmex” meal (bethlehem mexican food.) “Can I have a side of tortillas?” I politely asked the woman taking my...
$5 dollar movie + $3 popcorn + $1.50 soda= Boyd...
Located on the North Side of Bethlehem, PA a theatre now known as The Boyd first opened its theatre doors on September 1, 1921. After going through different names, different owners, and remodeling after a fire, The Boyd Theatre is still family owned since 1970 and they are continuing to operate the Boyd as the Lehigh Valley’s grandest and only first run single screen movie...
