4 Track Minds

So those of you that don't know us we are two food junkies who love going on adventures for new food, new places for the usual food, and we turn just about any other adventure/roadtrip into a new food adventure. We LOVE food and don't discriminate. We will take in suggestions, ideas, new places no matter how far away it is or how strange the place. Stay tuned because we will be posting new places, old places, the best cheapest parking nearby, the best times to go to avoid the long lines and the freshest ingredients if thats an issue. We will also try our best to accommodate those with special needs such as our vegetarian friends *cough adam and bri cough* by finding something for you too, but.............. no promises :P We have a rating system similar to the 5 star or 4 star rankings, for us if the restaurant stole the attention of all 4 tracks of our minds then thats the best 4 track- almost orgasmic 3 track- great but have had better 2 track- alright and will go again if there's no other choice 1 track- we're telling you this so you don't go here unless its a dire situation. $- pretty darn cheap you'll go to this place when you're in a hurry and don't have alot of money $$- decent price if you feel like eating out but don't want to spend the big bucks but feel like a full and tasty meal $$$- When you want a nice night out, really good food and pricey but darn well worth it.

My Florist (Ventura, California)

Looking for that place to get drinks, hang out with your friends, eat some really great food in a place you could lounge out and chill? My Florist is the PERFECT place! No, much to your dismay, it’s not a flower shop. This fairly large restaurant and bar is located in downtown Ventura with an atmosphere of relaxation. Depending on what night you go, you may not catch any live music, but there will always be a very relaxing feel of “island paradise” as you are surrounded by beautiful landscape pictures on their televisions as well as blue and yellow lights to brighten your mood.

Being that My Florist is very classy, it comes with a price. So if you can’t dish 15 dollars for their special Mac and Cheese, go for happy hour and dessert! This could be the perfect way to treat yourself after a long day or just cause you feel like it! That’s what we did one night.

Picking any seats you’d like is one perk about the place to fulfill your desired mood for the night. We chose a more comfortable couch rather than table to enjoy our drinks and dessert. A booklet menu full of special and classics drinks caters to whatever you’re in the mood for. We arrived at 6:45pm; just in time for happy hour which ended at 7:00pm. Like most restaurants, their happy hour consisted of $2 off beers and half off appetizers, but they also had $2 mimosas. A mimosa sounded wonderful so I sprung for that while Evan got a bottled New Castle.

The service at My Florist is known as European. This means enjoy the atmosphere and relax in the company of whom you’re dining with because the service will be slower. In Europe, people spend hours at a restaurant, relaxing after a long day. You could spend hours at My Florist if you really wanted to and depending how much you order, but bottom line is don’t expect your server to be running around trying to get your meal to you as quickly as possible. We were one of three parties inside ordering drinks and dessert and it took almost 20 minutes from the time we ordered dessert to the time we received them.

Before ordering our desserts, the manager explained that their desserts vary on the night based on what they run out of. Because of this, make sure to ask what the desserts are before you look at the menu because they may be out of what you want and have a substitute that sounds better. We ordered the molten chocolate cake al a mode as well as the bread pudding. The chocolate cake just oozed with chocolate filling and melted in your mouth with the contrast of cool ice cream and warm cake. The bread pudding had wonderful chunks of artisan bread coated in butter. Each bite had a little bit of crunch to it from being baked, but soft in the cream mixture. I would recommend both al a mode.

Before you leave, you have to go the bathroom. Remember World Foot Locker and the giant silver statue? If you didn’t already notice it when you walked in, you’ll definitely be greeted by it on your way to check out the awesome bathrooms.
