4 Track Minds

So those of you that don't know us we are two food junkies who love going on adventures for new food, new places for the usual food, and we turn just about any other adventure/roadtrip into a new food adventure. We LOVE food and don't discriminate. We will take in suggestions, ideas, new places no matter how far away it is or how strange the place. Stay tuned because we will be posting new places, old places, the best cheapest parking nearby, the best times to go to avoid the long lines and the freshest ingredients if thats an issue. We will also try our best to accommodate those with special needs such as our vegetarian friends *cough adam and bri cough* by finding something for you too, but.............. no promises :P We have a rating system similar to the 5 star or 4 star rankings, for us if the restaurant stole the attention of all 4 tracks of our minds then thats the best 4 track- almost orgasmic 3 track- great but have had better 2 track- alright and will go again if there's no other choice 1 track- we're telling you this so you don't go here unless its a dire situation. $- pretty darn cheap you'll go to this place when you're in a hurry and don't have alot of money $$- decent price if you feel like eating out but don't want to spend the big bucks but feel like a full and tasty meal $$$- When you want a nice night out, really good food and pricey but darn well worth it.

The Landing Grill and Sushi Bar (Westlake, Ca)

You know how I know it’s beginning to feel like Spring? When it’s a gorgeous sunny day, clear blue skies, and nice enough to eat outside. Thinking of this and wondering what eatery in the 805 had a great deck or patio seating, I instantly thought of The Landing. It’s a shopping center and walkway around the actual lake of Westlake where there are tons of boats and ducks. (You’re not supposed to feed the ducks, but we always did.) I used to go all the time from when I was one year old to last year, but I had never eaten at one of the restaurants.

With two restaurants to choose from, I went with The Landing Grill and Sushi Bar. Arriving at 11:45am I thought I would be the beginning of the lunch rush, but I was actually right in the middle of it. All tables closest to the water were already taken so I took one in the back, but still had a great view.

The menu was mostly Asian inspired with rice bowls, sushi, and rice boxes, but still offered different salads, sandwiches, burgers, and pasta.  I decided to go with the shrimp tempura bento box because I love shrimp and it gave me a variety of different things. I first started with miso soup and then was served my box with rice, california roll, shrimp tempera, and oriental salad. The oriental salad dressing was really good, but they drowned the lettuce in it so make sure you say light dressing.

The service was excellent, but unfortunately nothing that was served gave me the “wow” factor. I would come back to try a dessert, enjoy the atmosphere and view, and of course for the entertainment of the ducks (they walked through the patio and under the tables looking for crumbs.)
